Overview: Right now as of March 2012, Net10 has just a couple Android smartphones in their lineup. Expect this to change with Net10 and most other prepaid companies. They have two super budget and cheap smartphones, the LG Optimus Net and LG Optimus Q. Keep your expectations realistic and you will be happy with either of these two phones.
Do your due diligence before getting one of these Android smartphones from Net10. The reason? As we understand, Net10 uses Sprint towers for coverage with their Android phones. This is much more limited so you need to check before deciding. Does your area have good coverage or not? That is the question. So really it's more a matter of coverage with Net10.
If you are dealing with customer service, be patient. You will get your issues dealt with but put aside a few extra minutes if you plan on calling them.
Net10 Coverage Map: We've mentioned that the coverage map on the official Net10 website is not clear regarding Android based smartphones. The map is for their non Android phones which do not rely on data. The map below gives you a better idea of the coverage in your area. This is the most important step you should review before going with a Net 10 prepaid smartphone. The coverage map below is a Straight Talk map, but since both companies use Sprint towers, the same coverage applies.
The coverage map is fine for a general view but certainly this won't give you enough information to make an accurate assessment of whether you will be able to get coverage or weak coverage in your area.
